I originally started this site so I would have an online repository for my boot disks. I was a computer technician, and would never have a boot disk when I needed it, so I put them online. I created the ISO images, because most newer computers do not have a floppy drive installed. The ISOs can be used in place of the boot disks for whatever purpose you need.
I completely understand your argument but I'm not a lawyer, and I don't have the time to study the DMCA so I chose not to put these disks online. Overly cautious - perhaps, but I would prefer not to take down this site because of copywrite infringement.
If you need an XP CD, you're not going to find it here. There are plenty of other choices.

There are linux distros out there that run on floppies, my favourite being blueflops (which runs on two)

I know this isn't about boot discs, but this might be the most offensive thing I have read today.

I'm a gamer thank you. I'm 23, I own a house, I'm married and I have a 2 year old son. I work every day, I own 2 new cars, and 2 classics that I am restoring. My wife is 21 and is also a gamer, she goes to work every day, and is a full time student. We just got back from a vacation in New Mexico where we spent alot of time hiking in the mountains. I have seen most of the US and gone backpacking in England, Ireland, and Scotland. Some of my friends who are also gamers are some of the smartest people I know. One works for a cancer research program, another is almost done studying to be a forensic anthropologist. So tell me, what have you done worth while with your life lately?
Granted quite a few people out there fall into your idea of a gamer, but they are in fact not the majority. So grouping every person that games into the title of "lazy SoB" is very insulting. Next time you wish to state your opinion about something please consider that other people may take offence.

What you will find is people who use Linux will install Virtual Machines that allow install of XP to a virtual environment and then boot from that.
People who run XP with *nix systems report that the boot up is way faster than regular installs (like mine used to takean average of 5 minutes to boot) the online example I saw posted on YouTUBE showed XP boot up under Ubuntu running VirtualBOX boot up in about 30 seconds.
So its very possible for Linux users to be gamers... Its a question of what you run on your box.

Back in January 2003 I called Microsoft because my Windows XP Pro Upgrade (retail) CD failed to install because of scratches on it. They sent me a replacement CD. I did have to prove I had a retail copy by reading to them the Product Key for it.
Some notes on the replacement CD.
* I had to pay something like $25-$30 for it.
* It was not a retail CD. It had "Not for retail or OEM distribution" on it.
* It had its own Product Key on it.

If you are having problems copying files installing XP then you might have scratched the install CD, a dirty CD ROM or damage to the motherboard, hooking up a print can damage the motherboard if the computer power is not turned off.

Hi All
It seems I am a bit belated but maybe someone else will benefit
Scratched CD can be fixed by polishing them on a soft cloth with a bit of cleaning fluid used for cleaning silverware. The same as you would polish any perspex or clear plastic item It requires a flat surface and a good measure elbow grease but this really work. Do not take short cut and use your power drill You do not want to generate to much heat as it would damage the inner layer.

Have you tried a video rental store to see, if they have a resurfacing machine???
It may cost you a couple of bucks to have this done...

As yet, even microsoft haven't released a cd version of their xp boot system....it's doubtfull they ever will.....In ME and earlier dos systems, one could create a bootable cd using a program such as nero express, all you needed was the bootable floppy disk to do it(hence, the iso for a bootable cd)! Unfortinately, the same process dosen't work in xp!

rapidshare is a hole for rich people to go crawl in and die, over and over and over, via all the virus infested stuff that comes outta there. I've heard some horror stories. (PS. I am poor and between PCs right now and I have never used rapidsh*t downloads. not where there are so many other legitimate options. torrents and P2P should never be invaded by the rich spoons of the world. It's the last way to spread for us nobodies, let's keep the man out!

BTW, get a WIN98 ramdisk boot ISO and launch, then copy command.com into ramdisk and when done, eject CDROM and put in XP, go to CD drive and go "cd i386" and then type "winnt.exe" and it will run setup.
:D Now your PC is happy.

He states that 2000, NT, XP and Vista aren't bootable from any cd but the original Windows CD.

Hi girish,
I know what the issue is, but solving it is a bit complex. The servers running this site can not handle the load, so I've had to restrict the download speed for the .iso and .exe files using mod_bw for Apache http://bwmod.sourceforge.net/.
Without this restriction in place the entire site becomes unresponsive and unusable.
I'm working on getting this back in order and should hopefully have something in place shortly.

you are correct, the cd of xp coming with boot. but when you download from microsoft web the instalation software for XP not come with boot. for this reason you may concidered put a boot iso for xp.
thanks you for put this boot disks online, is realy help full. also any way all persons need to boot a computer for install new system can used any boot disk (don't care what OS you use) the new OS go to run properly because you are instaling.
